CONGRATULATIONS, WINNERS!
NOTE: When the Director has to play because there is an odd man out, it becomes quite a task to stay on top of the movement, etc. In today's rotation, when one EW pair did not skip, it was not immediately evident to me because there was also a NS sit-out in the same vicinity. By the time it was discovered, bad things had already happened :)
It's my JOB to make sure the movement is legal, that you don't play boards you have already played, and to assure one and all that the sanctioned game can be legitimately scored. For that reason (and to that end), I ran around like a nut the last 5 rounds making sure all was on the up-and-up.
The movement was able to be legally scored, and nobody played any board twice (or any other such silly nonsense). The editing of the movement was successful, and we can all breathe a sigh of relief that all is now well with the scoring.
As an aside, even after I asked all EW players at the beginning of this game to please check the traveler before moving to the next board, I entered scores on one traveler that appeared to me to be sensationalized (LOL) and there was NO WAY in my mind this could actually happen. But since you are supposed to check the scores on your own, I did not intervene on that board. If you don't check them, I cannot be your police all the time.
So please please please please -- all EW players (and probably all players at the table) -- check the scores on the traveler before leaving each table :)
